How to work with the dialog?

  1. Listen to the dialogue and read the PDF transcript. Turn on subtitles if necessary.
  2. Listen to the dialogue again, repeating the questions and answers aloud (!!!).
  3. Come up with your own answers to the questions. Use PDF vocabulary if needed.
  4. Listen to the questions and answer them aloud (!!!), with a correct intonation, pronunciation and rhythm.
  5. Go back to the video from time to time and repeat the exercise.

Talking about animals

(1) Do you like animals?

Yes I do. Who doesn’t like animals?

As for pets, I like dogs the most. Speaking of wild animals, lions are my favorite.

(3) What animals are there in your country?

There are a lot of different animals in Russia. The most common wild animals are bears, deers and wolves. The most beautiful russian animal is Amur Tiger. There are many different kinds of birds as well.

(4) What animals have disappeared from your country?

I don’t know what animals have disappeared, but the endangered ones are Syberian Tiger, Snow Leopard, polar bears and beluga whales. It’s very sad.

(5) Are there any dangerous animals in your country?

Russia is a big country. There are a lot of forests and of course many dangerous animals. 

(6) What is the cutest animal in the world?

Cats. Especially kitties. 

(7) Do you think animals were put on this planet so we could eat them?

Absolutely not. I don’t think so. 

(8) Do you think animals would rather not be kept as pets?

Some homeless animals should have homes. There is nothing bad, that people keep them as pets and take care of them.

(9) Is it OK to use animals in sport?

If they live in love and care, I think it is OK. If they are just being used for making money, it’s not acceptable of course.

(10) What animal would you like to come back to Earth after you die?

It’s a sad question. I would like to come back to Earth as a bird. It’s amazing to fly.

(1) What natural animal ability or talent would you like to have?

I would like to see as good as an eagle.

 (2) What is the most useful animal in the world?

It’s a difficult question. All animals are important and useful for something. That’s nature. 

(3) What animal best represents your character?

I think that all girls have something in common with cats. 

(4) Do you think it is necessary to experiment on animals to test cosmetics and drugs?

No, I don’t think so.

(5) What animals have the best life?

I think that my cat has the best life. 

(6) Should animals be kept in zoos?

I don’t think so, but it depends on the zoo of course. If animals live well, so why not?

(7) What are the biggest differences between animals and humans?

Animals don’t destroy our planet. Most humans don’t care about nature. And one day we will regret it. Nature will destroy all of us.

(8) What animal are you most fascinated by?

I like dolphins. They are so positive and funny. 

(9) What animal do you least like?

I don’t like snakes and insects.
