Talking about water

(1) What comes to mind when you hear the word ‘water’? –

I think about how important water is. And we are lucky we have plenty of it!

(2) What does water taste like?

It depends on where it comes from and how pure it is. Each sort of water has a different taste.

(3) When do you like drinking water? –

Almost every time. I like drinking a lot of water during the day.

(4) Do you think water should be free? –

Absolutely. I think water should be free of charge.

(5) Do you buy bottled water or drink tap water? –

I prefer buying bottled water rather than drinking tap one. Tap water is not clean enough.

(6) Do you drink enough water every day?

Yes I do. Water helps me to be more healthy!

(7) Do you ever think about how precious water is?

Sometimes. I think people underestimate the meaning of water and sometimes waste it too much. I think it’s not right.

(8) What three adjectives would you use to describe water? –

Delicious, beautiful and important.

(9) Isak Dinesen said: “The cure for anything is salt water – sweat, tears, or the sea.” What do you think of this quote?

Crying is helping us emotionally. Sweat is important when it’s too hot outside. Sea water is useful for our health. So it’s true, the cure for anything is salt water!

(10) In 1732, Thomas Fuller said: “We never know the worth of water till the well is dry.” What do you think of this quote?

People can’t survive without water. And it’s important to know the worth of it! Most people don’t do that.

(1) Do you like water? –

Yes I do! Everyone likes water!

(2) Do you worry about the future availability of water? –

Sometimes. It’s definitely one of the problems that our population will probably have in the future.

(3) What do you think it would be like to have no fresh drinking water? –

It’s terrible. I am really sorry for people who don’t have enough drinking water.

(4) What do you think of the fact that most of the world’s population doesn’t have clean water, yet rich countries spend billions on oil, brand goods, tourism, etc.? д.?

Yeah it’s crazy. There are a lot of contradictions in our capitalist world. Something is definitely wrong and people have to change it.

(5)      What are the best and worst things about tap water and bottled water? –

Bottled water is cleaner and prepared specially for drinking purposes. Tap water is usually not so clean, but it’s cheaper.

(6) How does water form? –

Water is formed by combining hydrogen (H2) and oxygen (O). Earth’s atmosphere is filled with oxygen, which joins with hydrogen to create water.

People use water almost everywhere: cooking and drinking, constractions, medicine, manufacturing, industry, electricity, heating and so on.

(8) What do you know about water? –

I know about the water cycle, that shows the continuous movement of water within the Earth and atmosphere. It is a complex system that includes many different processes. It’s interesting!

(9) Henry David Thoreau said: “I believe that water is the only drink for a wise man.” What do you think of this quote?

I think it’s true, because water is the most clean and healthy drink.

(10) Jacques Cousteau said: “Water and air, the two essential fluids on which all life depends, have become global garbage cans.” What do you think of this quote? Garbage is a big problem nowadays. We need to be more aware of sustainable consumption and production in order to protect our planet.
